Celebrating Yourself and Loving It

I have learnt over the years to accept and love myself as I am - unconditionally... and I make no excuses for doing so! Through my mistakes, failures, struggles, victories and accomplishments, my conclusion has always been that if I've been able to go through the "dailyness" of life, learn my lessons and come out stronger, then I am worth celebrating!

You too need to make this radical shift in perspective because life and the people in it have the tendency of whipping and bruising your core self esteem into such a pulp that if you don't take control over YOU, life and people will!

Accepting and loving yourself doesn't mean you're vain or conceited. It means that physically you've take a decision to accept your face, body and bone structure as they are after doing all you can to keep them healthy and attractive. When you stand in front of that mirror and look at the reflection staring back at you, know that you're a devine masterpiece!

Your uniqueness is so awesome that no one who has lived, is living and will ever live will look, feel, think, act, react, laugh, accomplish, gesture and love in the same way as you do! You are so unique that after God created you, He destroyed the mould so that you can't be duplicated or photocopied!

When you begin to grasp the full implication of this, you will stop trying to be like others or fit into some mould someone is forcing you into. Is the perspective of that someone or society more perfect than what God Himself thinks?!

Do you not know that sometimes the people who criticize or judge you most are themselves very insecure? They hate who they are that is why they can't accept who you are! So don't allow anyone to affect, mould and control you and your whole life with their narrow minded perspectives.

I think society and Christians have numerous subtle ways of defining who we should be through stereotyped behaviour and model looks that imprison our originality and kill our creativity. The God I know is a God of variety. That is why we all don't look the same. Plants don't either. Even snow flakes, I'm told are each shaped differently!

So when you partake in killing your uniqueness, you are killing a part of God's artistic expression that was meant to impact this world uniquely through your skills, talents, body, face, attitude... and you are blowing it!

Wake up! Snatch your original identity back, resusitate it into consciousness. Then intentionally get to know yourself, learn to accept yourself, love the you evolving and begin to celebreate yourself every day with reckless abandon! Then you will start loving it!
